The Neon Experiment

It was a pretty simple installation. The kit was purchased at Murray's Auto Stores for $29.00 for what they call " 6 feet " long. It's actually about 3 1/2 feet long of actual Neon and the rest is just wire. The kit comes with Superglue. Now that was a real joke because I could not get that Neon to stick to anything with the Superglue and I wasn't about to put glue on my gas tank paint!!
All I did was simply wrap the Neon around the gas tank and used the bolt that holds the gas tank down to wrap the Neon under. ( See above picture). Gently tightening the bolt holds the Neon wire under the rubber just enough to keep it snug.  It comes with a lighter plug which I cut off and spliced each wire into the tail light wires which can also be seen above. The Blue Box you see is the little relay and that is held down with two sided tape which is included in the kit as well.
My original idea was to use either this Neon wire or 8" hard Neon "tubes" under the gas tank to give the engine a "blue glow". That idea was scrapped because I could not find a suitable place to mount the "Neon Tubes".

I also bought a valve stem cap that lights up when the wheel turns at night. I'm trying to be careful not to "junk up" the bike. I'll report on how I like it at a later date.
